UP (University of the Philippines) Professor Randy David was interviewed this morning, it just so happened that I heard the phone patch interview. Reportedly, he will run for a congressional seat in the 2nd district of Pampanga as Congressman to defeat possible candidacy of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Ka Randy’s hometown is Guagua, Pampanga.
There are speculations that Con Ass was untimely pushed by the Congress before election to change our constitution to parliamentary system. A system that there will be no more president but a prime minister voted by the Congress. Do I need to say that most filipinos are against the idea of Con Ass (Constituent Assembly)? Except the allies of GMA, of course.
At least, here comes Prof Randy David, who sometime had a forum show before. I used to watch that show long time ago which tackles the issues and problems in the nation and the audience had a chance to ask the guests. I salute Ka Randy for being honest that he don’t have campaign money but he is willing to run despite the fact that his family is against his decision.
Others see the situation as “David and Goliath”, Prof. Randy David as David and its obvious that Madam President is Goliath. President Arroyo could be popular in Pampanga for she always have projects in her hometown, kungbaga, panay pabango at papogi but Kabalen should have a choice whom to vote. And besides, I agree with Ka Randy that the president is the most unpopular president.
Liberal Party President Manuel Roxas welcomes the idea and will not hesitate to endorse Randy David as their official candidate for 2nd congressional district of Pampanga.
Pampanga Governor Eddie Panlilio urged David to “join a group of Kapampangans who have started a collective discerning of the Pampanga situation, Kapampangans rejected candidates identified with jueteng and quarry scams.
Bayan Muna Partylist Representative Satur Ocampo also welcomes Randy David on his intention of running. Bayan Muna has been a consistent winner in the partylist race in Pampanga.
So, with the overwhelming support Randy David receives, he doesn’t need to have campaign money. I am not a Kapampangan but I have a few friends there, I’m sure they will support him as well. How about fund raising campaign for Ka Randy?

Hey, if Among Ed Panlilio was able to triumph over the supposedly unbeatable in Pampanga, it can’t be impossible for another decent human being like Randy David to pull off another surprise.
